What we do

How we can help

01

Fish Lyft™ installation

Our proprietary Fish Lyft is a modular fish ladder system that allows salmon and other migratory fish to traverse beaver dams — enabling coexistence of two keystone species that are traditionally managed in conflict. Proven in partnership with DFO and the City of Port Moody with 100% salmon passage success.

02

Beaver Dam Analogues (BDAs)

Installed to accelerate habitat recovery in historically over-trapped waterways, BDAs mimic natural beaver dams to raise water tables, reduce erosion, and create productive riparian habitat. We design and install BDAs for restoration programs and research trials.

03

Wetland management

Maintaining productive wetland habitats while managing the conflict pressures they create — flood risk, infrastructure proximity, land use conflict. We build management plans that keep wetlands functional and defensible.

04

Live trapping for research programs

We provide licensed live trapping services for university research programs, wildlife population studies, and translocation projects — handling species from small mammals to furbearers. All work is documented and compliant with research and animal care protocols.

05

Ecological assessment & reporting

Site assessments, baseline surveys, and monitoring reports suitable for regulatory submissions, environmental assessments, and research publications.

Common questions

Frequently asked

The Fish Lyft is a staircase-style fish passage system fed by a pond leveler outflow. During high water, fish are drawn to the discharge of the lowest box rather than attempting to leap the dam — they traverse the system naturally and reach upstream spawning habitat. It was developed in partnership with DFO and the City of Port Moody.
